The land of Japon has been split in two and thrown into war by two nations, the Empire of Japon and the Kingdom of Japon, who use biological weapons known as “€?Human Tanks” to fight their war. But now the war between these two has turned into a proxy war between the Human Tanks themselves.

Our hero, Yatarou Shirahase, acting as an officer in the Imperial army, is dispatched on a mission to subjugate the Human Tanks. He must now battle an enemy of the same make as his own beloved company of Human Tanks.

Key features:

  • Over 50 missions with strategic, semi real-time battles
  • Countless cute Human Tanks to battle with and against
  • Replay missions at any time to improve your rank
  • English localisation will feature hand-drawn battle backgrounds and an improved user interface

Limited Operations is designed so that no previous knowledge of the series is required to hop in. Old fans will find delightful details as they make new acquaintances and reunite with old friends.” says Jakke Elonen, Project Lead.

War of the Human Tanks – Limited Operations will come priced at $9.99. The game will include Steam Trading Cards, Achievements and other Steam features. The game’s opening and screenshots can be viewed on the Steam page.

February 13, 2015. Fruitbat Factory is happy to announce the release of our fifth game on Steam: War of the Human Tanks – ALTeR. The game is available today.

War of Human Tanks - ALTeR - SS01

Human Tanks – ALTeR is the second installment of the War of the Human Tanks series, and sequel to War of the Human Tanks. This time you assume command of the enemy of the first game, the Royal Army, and fight back for all you hold dear!

I always liked the Royal Tank designs of the original game and ALTeR lets you have them all – and I mean ALL. Playing on the other side, you discover a whole range of new characters, while still having some familiar faces along too.“ says Ozhan Sen, Art Lead.

Synopsis

War of the Human Tanks is a story driven strategy game with a gameplay reminiscent of Battleship and Chess, featuring a story of war, loyalty, sacrifice and human shaped tanks.

Following the events of the first War of the Human Tanks, the land of Japon is in chaos, with the embers of the war between the Kingdom of Japon and the Empire of Japon still burning bright, as new factions emerge onto the battlefield.

Assume control of Alter Matsuyukishiro and lead the Matsuyukishiro Company of the Royal Army on a mission to eliminate a traitor to the Kingdom. But not all is as it seems in this war. When the guns fall silent, is tragedy all that awaits?

Key Features

  • Over 100 missions to conquer
  • Over 250 Human Tanks to battle, develop, build and recruit
  • More than 50 modules to develop and customize your army with
  • Keep your units and resources in New Game+ to tackle even greater challenges

War of Human Tanks - ALTeR - SS02

War of the Human Tanks – ALTeR comes with the three DLC created by Yakiniku Banzai for the original Japanese release built in – Blue, Black, and White. Delve deep into the Great Cavern of Mt. Fuji and tackle ever more impossible odds in over 90 extra stages, and reveal more about the history of all Human Tanks!

In addition, players who have completed War of the Human Tanks may import their save to unlock a special bonus unit in ALTeR!

I’m particularly excited to see player responses to the Great Cavern of Fuji. It’s big. Main campaign might take up to 10 hours, for the Cavern we’re talking about 50+. There’s so much to see and do and learn. I think it will surprise those who venture there.“ explains Jakke Elonen, Project Lead.

The game is fully armed with new Steam features, including:

  • 61 Achievements
  • Steam Cloud
  • Stats and Leaderboards
  • Steam Trading Cards

To celebrate the release, we are announcing a map design contest for War of the Human Tanks.

The goal of the contest is to design a new bonus map for War of the Human Tanks. The design can be as detailed as you want it to be, as long as it adheres to the physical limitations of the game (maximum map size is 17*17 octagons, which can be passable or non-passable), graphical or a written concept, and designed for any difficulty level – up to you! We’ll choose the design we find most interesting and add that map as an extra bonus map to the Steam release of the game (to be found under ‘Free Battle’).

Contest rules:

  • One submission per person
  • The design can be submitted in any form we’ll be able to read
  • Fruitbat Factory retains the right to modify the winning design as they see fit
  • Submissions are accepted until 10.2.2014
  • Entries to be submitted to support@fruitbatfactory.com

The winner will receive a unique War of the Human Tanks t-shirt, an Imperial Edition of the game on Steam, and the eternal fame of contributing to the war effort.

99 Spirits has been Greenlit!

99 Spirits Greenlit

Yesterday 29.10.2013 Valve announced a larger than usual batch of new Greenlit games, and to our great joy, included was our first game to make it onto Steam – TORaIKI’s brilliant puzzle RPG ’99 Spirits’!

In the coming days and weeks we’ll be focusing on publishing the game on Steam, and exploring all our options in the system – of course, we’ll be adding Steam Trading Cards for it too!

This is all thanks to everyone’s continuous support, and we couldn’t be happier for it. As we’ve previously announced, our loyal IndieGoGo backers, as well as those who purchased the game through our Fruitbat Factory store, or from Indie Royale, will also receive a Steam key for the game once released.

Thanks to TORaIKI’s Hoshino Tomo for the celebratory illustration!

Human Tanks, Charge!

The day has come. The troops stand prepared. Are you ready?

War of the Human Tanks is now officially out.

The first pre-orderers have probably begun playing the game already, and we’re hoping they’ll have a jolly good time of it.

Release

To celebrate the launch of our first title, we’re having a 10% launch week discount campaign. Go grab yours at the nearest (hah!) digital retailer!

In additional news, Green Man Gaming came through today, and you can now find War of the Human Tanks listed there as well, in addition to Desura, GamersGate and Indievania!

The reviews are still coming in. Clark A. at Digitally Downloaded gave War of the Human Tanks 3.5/5:

“It’s absolutely a worthy title in its own right. The character banter is thoroughly entertaining, augmented by solid combat.”

But don’t just take his word for it when you can check out the free demo featuring first 5 full episodes of the game.

The Fuse is Lit

As anyone who’s followed our blog would well know, it’s the eve of the ba- I mean, release of Fruitbat Factory’s first release, War of the Human Tanks.

Tomorrow we’ll be fixing up release-related details with the distributors and hoping nothing goes too catastrophically wrong. If it does, you’ll be the first ones to know. Especially if you were the first one to order the game and run into whatever catastrophe awaits.

On that note, here’s another countdown illustration courtesy of Angie (@9aia).

Heshiko

Everyone’s favorite Human Tank, Heshiko, is all set and ready for action.
Lock and roll!

In other news, as part of our ongoing Steam Greenlight efforts, we are looking into providing everyone who previously purchased the game a Steam key as well when War of the Human Tanks makes it into Steam. It’s definitely something we want to do, but we need to check the practical execution with each of our distributors so as to not make false promises. So far Desura has confirmed we’ll be able to do this. We’ll keep you posted with future developments.

Every vote on Steam Greenlight counts (towards something. I think)!

Human Tanks Home in

It’s an exciting week for us with the release date for War of the Human Tanks finally just ahead: September 14th, this Friday.

To celebrate the approaching occasion, here’s an absolutely gorgeous art piece by Angie (@9aia) of Heshiko and Choko from War of the Human Tanks. It made us really happy! You can view this and a bonus Liselotte illustration on our forums’ Fan Art section.

The “Let’s Play” guide at http://fruitbatfactory.com/humantanks/guides.html has been updated with Episode 2, check it out, especially if you’ve already played the demo or are struggling with it.
